California native born and raised in South Central Los Angeles I experienced the public school systems lack of Arts in the curriculum. As a former early childhood educator I’m inspired to serve children and bring access to those whom may be otherwise under served and/or denied access to the arts as a result of a lack of funding.
Attending public schools in the 80’s-90’s in the inner city was challenging, sharing text books and educational materials was common. Though the challenges were not easy, those times set the pathway to my attendance to Clark Atlanta University in Atlanta, Georgia. It being my mission to be a servant, I vowed to come back to California to do my part; hence my role as an early childhood educator.
Meeting Cristina and teaching alongside her has been a blessing in which guides my pathway servicing youth through the Arts. After many years of friendship, we share common interest and both are on a mission of providing support to our youths wellbeing and to provide experiences of the Arts accessible to them. An idea introduced by Cristina is now a team effort. I have accepted the challenge and as with any other goal I deem the success of our venture. There’s no turning back.
We are leading the charge to help children locally and across the country to have access to the arts. As a MBA graduate from Concordia University of Irvine prepared me beyond my passions to join forces with Cristina. As a wife and mother I’m proud to be a part of this innovative initiative.
