"The 1st painting, Women’s Valor, is a painting where I try to convey the inexplicable beauty and pride of living a woman’s life. Filled with immense pain throughout our lives through hormonal imbalances, menstrual cycles and childbirth, living as a woman is not easy. But we take pride and forge forward and embrace all the pain and adversity presented to us."
"The 2nd painting, Dreamer, is a piece where I embrace my culture and aspirations that come with being of Mexican descent. Always bringing awareness to any issue is super important. In my case, being Chicana (1st generation Mexican-American), the last couple years were super tough. Being the first to enter a university in my family through an intense political climate (political science major) made everything much more difficult mentally. This piece is a reminder to myself that life is meaningful and my background just makes it that much more valuable."
